My dog was put to sleep today :(

She was a 12yo Germany shepherd and was beautiful but unfortunately she had been struggling with her back legs and last night they gave in. The vet came this afternoon and at 3.15 she took her last breath

I feel so lost already and the house is so
quiet. This is the first time in 20+ years that I've not had a dog and it's awful.

I'm so very sorry for the loss of your lovely dog and to everyone else who misses their wonderful friends. They do take a little bit of our hearts forever when they go. But you did the right thing at the right time for her OP and I hope it gives you a tiny bit of comfort to

Thank you for your lovely words chocolate, I picked her ashes up from the vets on Saturday morning and started sobbing before I even got served! I still have a few tears for my lovely girl, but I'm so glad she's home with me now, exactly where she should be.

l am so sorry to hear of all your losses, but having lost my 13 year old Weimaraner 3 weeks ago, l know exactly how you feel.

I have just picked up her ashes from the vet today and it is very hard.
