What is normal puppy biting?

our puppy is 15 weeks old, I had read up a lot before we got her and knew we were in for a lot of nipping and trying to chew our fingers (and anything else!)
So what is the norm? Sometimes she really seems to go for us, it's not just nipping and wanting to chew are fingers, sometimes she seems to go a bit mad and literally goes for us. Is this just normal puppy behaviour? If so when does it stop?,!! Am worrying she will still be doing it when bigger...those teeth are sharp!
Thanks

My girl is 15 weeks too. We have always (mostly...) swapped fingers for a toy and she has mostly stopped. She goes for fingers when she's very sleepy and its a gentle mouthing, or when she goes mad and bites me in the way she'd bite her park buddies which sounds like yours! She doesn't really bite people who aren't me or dp anymore. Mine has lost 2 front teeth this week so I got her an antler to chew on and it is definitely keeping her mouth busy!

They sound like they're on the same page, bite wise. (although to be fair, I'm no expert so this could be a bad page!)

Thanks for that. Smile Yes we have some bone shaped toys that we put to her mouth when she bites. She would do it to anyone!just sometimes when having a mad 10mins she can seem quite ferocious!!

Mine is a terrible mistake that happened at doggy day care! Labradoodle collie we think!

Our staffy cross is now 9 months and finally grown out of it - but with her and one previous dog, I remember thinking the puppy mouthing was never going to end! Then woke up one day and realised... it had. We were despairing of her ever stopping, even though we've been there before.

Nothing worked. Yelping at her made her do it more. Ignoring her made her really persistent. (Bull breed characteristic - other dogs probably not so bad). Distraction the best technique and also some basic training with treats. If the treat bowl was nearby she didn't do it. She still grabs my shoes in the garden - but no more teeth-on-flesh contact for a few months, now. It comes to an end but only when something clicks in their little brains!

What worked with my ddog whose a 1 1/2 year old jackhuahua was saying Ow really loud and stopping play for a time out, he soon learnt that he wasn't to do it. he still likes to play bite fingers but only with me or my father but that's because we both let him and he does not bite too hard when doing it and he never does it with anyone else no matter how excited he gets.
He seems to know that we are the only two he's allowed to play with like that as he's extremely gentle when playing with my small neices and nephew.
