Food for a collie

We have a two year old collie cross. She was a rescue puppy and it took a while to find a diet that didn't give her constant diarrhoea. Now she is on Chappie in the evenings and Purina Pro Plan Adult Digestion dried food in the mornings and is thriving with plenty of energy and a shiny coat.

BUT I have just discovered that Purina is a Nestle product. Does anyone have any suggestions for what we could replace it with? Would prefer dried food as we take her travelling with us and it is very convenient.

I am not a canine nutritionist, so forgive me for asking why you are feeding 2 different brands of food? Or just different names of the same brand? We have fed Burns for years, and it is good if your dog is prone to fatness. We started feeding CSJ because some of our dogs are skinny and it's good for maintaining weight.

I think you will find that people have their own ideas, and it is a very personal choice.

I wonder about the dog's 'natural' diet, as really there is not much natural about a dog, in that every element of their being has been tampered with by us. If the boot suits....

I feed CSJ too - dog loves it, shiny coat, firm poo, bright eyes, and even the premier line for tubby oldsters that she's on is only about £32 for 15kg. It was developed by a sheepdog triallist for collies/agility dogs, so should be fine for collie crosses.
