Dpup chewed through her long line today, which was a nasty, rip all the skin off your hands, nylon one, can anyone recommend a cheap, strong, soft long lead or lunge line please? I'd like one that won't burn my hands too much when she bolts after a squirrel Grin
I need a new harness for her, front and back leading in pink please. I've found one, but the front ring is nylon rather than metal, and I'm worried it won't last this is it, has anyone used this type before?
And I could do with a cheap dog proof feed bin (to hold around 15-20kg) too if anybody's seen one! Flowers
bloody dog destroying everything grumble grumble

Can't help with the long line but I can't recommend Indi-Dog harnesses enough. My dogs have all got the 25mm Houdini Ultra (the photo on the website of that harness isn't great, there are better examples on their FB page) with the extra ring on the front and I love them.

I keep dry food in one of these and, so far at least, they have proved dog proof.

I've got that harness...the front clip is pretty sturdy even though it's not metal.

It's a nice harness too.

I could do a close up photo of the clip if you want?

Yes please tabulahrasa, if I remember right you have a Rottweiler? Dpup is a muttley but 28kg and very strong. Do you use the front clip most of the time?

The Indi-dog harnesses look really good too, the Neo harness is similar to the one I'm using at the moment which has the benefit of just going over the head and behind the front legs. Wrestling her into her old bog standard adjustable harness was always messy Confused

Don't pick up the long line, stand on it...

tabulahrasa · 30/03/2015 19:04

Yep it's a rottweiler I have, only a little one so he's just under 40kgs...I use the front clip on the double ended lead and the back one for his flexi or longline.

His harness isn't massively old, but it seems sturdy enough at the front to me...I wouldn't use it if it felt flimsy at all as he's dog aggressive.

TheHoundsBitch · 30/03/2015 19:29

Thanks tabulahrasa. Not sure which one to go for now!

I went for the ruffwear one because of the padding, he can't/isn't allowed to jump in and out of the car, so it looked like I could use it to help lift him. I can...

The indi dog one is a lot cheaper though if you've no use for the padded one, and I'm pretty sure she can do custom sizes and colours and what have you pretty cheaply as well.
