Dog in season- the entire house stinks of blood.

Is that normal? Usually you can't smell the dog smell in the house, as it's cleaned regularly and she gets weekly baths. But for the past week, ever since she started bleeding, everything just stinks of this "bloody" smell. I had windows open all day, even though it was cold, cleaned the carpets, washed the floors, and yet the house still smells. Is it because of her being in season? It's not a very pleasant smell, as I'm sure you can imagine. I even washed her today, and you wouldn't know it without actually looking at her. Any tips on how to reduce the smell? And whilst we are on horny dog topic- how the fuck do I calm her down? She's gone mental! Chewing everything, humping things, running around like crazy. And there I was thinking that horny teenagers were bad.

I would get that dog to the vet asap in case she is developing pyometra which is life threatening.

They can smell a bit bloody but I have a fairly large dog and only notice it when she's lying akimbo for a belly rub and wafting the odour...
A quick rub with a baby wipe sorts it, certainly doesn't stink out house or anything.

Please bear in mind before reading my suggestion - my dpup hasn't yet had her first heat.
Can you put some knickers on her to contain the blood while in the house?
Serious question, I've no idea if a dog would allow it though.

I probably should have mentioned that I do have an overly keen sense of smell. But I will take her to the vets tomorrow, just to be on the safe side.

There are bitch britches, and I've ordered some, but they haven't yet arrived. I wasn't expecting a season for another month.

DDog3 smelt bad when she had an infection. Ordinarily her season just smelt a bit more, I don't know.... doggy IYSWIM?
We have a very small cottage and I certainly don't clean as often as you do :o

Hmmm... I've barely smelled her today. She even slept next to me and it wasn't as strong as yesterday. Do dogs have heavy flow days?
