If you let your dog sleep on the bed, how and whereabouts does he/she sleep?

My boy (small terrier) sleeps right up on the pillow next to my head. I'm a lone parent so there's a whole side for him but that's where he likes to be Smile.

Scottie dog. Whatever position causes maximum disruption and takes up as much of the bed as he can stretch to, and usually on his back.
7.30am he will stand on you until you take him it for a wee.

He mostly sleeps with dd but if she's not home I feel guilty so let him in with me. He's a pain in the arse really but I do love him.

My bernese starts off in between us, gets off when we turn the light off and sleeps on the floor as I think the bed is too warm, but the minute our alarm goes off she's back on the bed in the middle taking up 85% of the bed. We had to get a bigger one (bed, not dog) and also a duvet another size up so we can still have covers when she gets in the middle.

DP leaves earlier than me for work by 2.5 hours so when he gets out she takes his whole side and hangs head or limbs off over the side or lies on her back legs in the air, and just snores and farts.

Some nights she chooses to sleep in the kitchen though. She's spoiled so she gets the choice, and will happily sleep in a crate if we are at parents etc.

When we got her we said she'd not be allowed upstairs, but we let her once after a stay in the vets and selfishley quite liked it, so now she chooses.

Two labs here - DDog 1 is usually under the covers in between DH and I. DDog 2 starts off at the bottom of the bed but gradually creeps up until she's pretty much on the pillows.

I'm loving the idea of a bedside cot for the DDogs...

My new rescue Rhodesian Ridgeback likes to sleep on top of me. I have now started to address this one as it's not conducive to a good night's sleep, various bits are numb when I wake up!

At the bottom of the bed at our feet. Sometimes rammed up against one or other set of legs. He would never come under the covers. usually around 5 am or so, he comes up and snuggles in between the 2 of us.

I grew up with dogs who weren't allowed upstairs. My dh grew up with goldfish (who weren't allowed upstairs either). I never thought we'd be the kind of people who let the dog sleep on the bed but we are and I love it.

All 3 teens come into us before going to bed and sit on the end of the bed and chat - I think it is because of the dog.

Can I ask a rude question?

What do you do if you want - er, what I think are now referred to on here as 'marital relations'? Grin. Do you have dogs pawing at the door to get in? It's hard enough to get teenager, pre-teen and littley to bed without trying to turf out the dog as well!

Puppy ( 11weeks) not allowed in bedrooms yet, but loves to cuddle in if I snooze on the couch . I like him by my feet. He likes it if he is on top of me. IM trying to stop that as he is going to be a big dog & I want to be able to breathe as I sleep .

Hygiene is very over rated. I share with whichever of the cats and dogs want a warm bed and I change the sheets often.
