couple of questions

found trainer i like but due to puppys age and fact the field is likely to be very very soggy .Cant start to puppy is about 14 weeks or ideally should it need be sooner ( we do have a couple of 1-1 lessons booked at home /local park )
.Do have other walks that are not so soggy so he wont be stuck on footpaths in winter

Then we come to other problem if I can not arrange lift for puppy( i will go in my powerchair ) its about a 25 mins each way plus class and back aware that only should be on 15/20 min walks by then .If we was to take very slow walk at pups pace stopping for sniffs etc when required will that be ok or will that be a major issues and better staying with 1-1 lessons to older

I think 14 weeks, after 1:1 lessons and plenty of home practice would be perfect.

Could puppy sit on your lap in the chair?

I have considered it as a option depending on how big/wriggly he gets ,will try see how he is very locally first .

Have one hand free to hold him as only need one hand to drive .so if you live near stansted airport and see a person driving power chair peering round a lab puppy that will be me .

I do have visions of a 45kg lab trying to hop on for a ride in the future Grin

Grin I did think it would depend on how big a dog he was going to be!

My puppy thought my parents mobility scooters were awesome as he could just hop on between their feet and travel in comfort.

BTW, I think a slow walk there would be fine, but its likely that the lesson will tire him out and then it would be hard getting home. At 14 weeks, dpuppy would just sit down when he'd had enough of life

yes there is an older lady whose dog jumps on her mobility scooter here for ride to the park she laughs and says well we both getting on a bit

CMot

Am expecting him to try be a lap dog at some point .last lab always liked to think that was in her job description and used to hear an ooff as she climbed on

Am going to go look at the field this week and then will see how he goes on my lap when getting him and about once he home and before can go down .
Luckily live in a small close with 4 other dog household all well behaved and immunised so can start him socialising .

May need to see if can get a lift back. If to big to hitch from training just till he old enough and big enough to amble back with me
