Any recommendations? Dog has skin irritations which vet diagnosed as diet related. Is there a canned meat only product that doesn't cost a fortune?

Raw feeding prevents one of my dogs allergies from flaring up. To start with, I bought it pre-prepared, it arrived in frozen 'tubes' and has no additives.

Cans? Butchers tripe mix has no cereals and is the same price as most other canned food.

Does it need to be cans though? You get lots of dry food that's cereal free.

Nature's Menu frozen raw meat. It cost us just over £1 a day. Would try to avoid processed food initially, natural vitamins occurring together in food are so much more powerful that the artificially added variety. In humans I'd be giving it 3 months before deciding it wasn't working.

Lots of green tripe, loaded with probiotics has a good chance of making a difference. But I'd stick to the frozen minced variety as the fresh stuff smells putrid.

My pup was very itchy when we brought him home. Itch, scratch, itch. Constantly. He was making himself sore. And his poos were runny and horrid.
He was on Beta Puppy - full of grain.
We changed him onto James Wellbeloved (I know there are other brands but that was most easily available at the time) and the scratching stopped within days. Poos were a lot better too.

We feed ours a completely grain free diet. She began her life on James Well Beloved till about 3 months at which point we switched her over to absoutely grain free.

Mornings and afternoons - Milies Wolfheart dry kibble - 70% fish/meat content and the rest veg, no grains.

Dinners - Homemade - tripe, mince, liver (80%) boiled with carrots, couregettes, blueberries, cranberries, peas (20%)- make it once a week, lasts 7-8 dinners, costs £2 for the whole week's worth of meals. The tripe and mince is dirt cheap from natures menu and liver is peanuts!

She has excellent hard, firm, non smelly easy to pick up poop, no skin issues, is very easy to train and brainy, and loves her food!
