We have inherited a St Bernard dog, help!

I've never owned a dog. We now have a 2 year old St Bernard female to look after. Tomorrow I need to go and purchase the basics. She's gorgeous and very friendly and calm. I think I'm more nervous than the dog!

I'd be really grateful for any tips on looking after this breed.

She is currently sitting at the back door sulking because I put her out so that I can wash the floor

You have done amazingly well, she looks gorgeous! We have a newfie so equally big!!! Well done for caring about her, especially with the grooming! People forget how uncomfortable it is for a dog not groomed! Another vote for insurance, our Newfie got bloat in October, bill was £4500 (we were insured!) xxx
