Hi all. We have two springer spaniels who are 12 (bit of a grumpy old man) and 4. We've just got a 10 month old cocker spaniel as a friend of a friend wasn't coping cos they though it was a small dog that wouldn't need much exercise. Confused

He's lovely apart from when he thinks he's done something wrong, when he then gets very snappy. He's a bit of a kleptomaniac so things are now out of reach for him. Any tips of how to deal with his snapping?

Could you try clicker training to reinforce good learnt behaviour?

Some vets offer puppy training (ours do young puppies and adolescents), which might be worth going to, or at least asking to have a session with an experienced nurse to sort the snappiness out.

It might be that his old owners were quick to punish bad behaviour and he has ended up scared.
Kikopup on YouTube is good to demonstrate clicker training.

Thanks. We've never used clicker before so may look more into that. I'm taking him to the vet on Monday to register him so can ask the nurse about it then.
