Raw feeders - any idea?

Been raw feeding my almost 11month old lab since I got him and he has thrived on it. He has a varied diet, but weekdays, for breakfast he always has Natural Instinct ('proper' raw tea time and weekends). He has always wolfed his food down, but for the past couple of days he has just been looking at his breakfast and walking away from it.
It is not the flavour, nor a bad batch, I gave him a different tub today. He still polishes off his tea (chicken portions/mackeral etc).

He is fine otherwise, still bouncy, charging around on walks etc., but given that he IS a labrador, can't figure out what the problem is with breakfast all of a sudden.

Any ideas?

I have a 13 year old labrador/boxer and I feed her raw, 2 years now. She has always had a very fluctuating appetite, it still worries me, but she has always been very healthy and fit.

I can recommend that you vary the raw food, make sure he gets organ meat and tripe. I get Bulmer's, it's very cheap, and always get at least 4 different one - typically tripe, offal, beef and laamb/duck.

Dogs are not meant to eat the same amount every day, but we like the routine. Many dogs prefer 2 meal a day, even young ones.

I know miss, I do vary his diet a lot. He gets the majority of his door from DAF, lots of green tripe/ lamb/chicken/fish etc.,

I did not go into the 'other' food too much as we have no problem there, it is just his pre made raw that is a ( very small) problem.

I could just drop it, but have a freezer full and it is convenient for a quick turn around in the morning Smile

I also blitz liver and other offal in mixer and bake in a cool oven - good healthy training treats - every dog in a five mile radius loves meGrin

Maybe vary what you feed, the amount and when you feed?
Maybe have a day when they eat more and another day less?
Don’t always feed the ready made in the morning.
Try flash frying some liver or offal and mix it in the Natural Instinct?

I must admit sometimes my dogs aren’t so keen on the ready made, so I reduce the amount and add some meaty bones/offal to it.
And when I am cooking they sometimes don’t even touch their big juicy filets, when this happens, touch love is required.

Tough love*

Thanks Marco. He has just devoured his tea of chicken portions.

Will try his favourite green tripe for breakfast in the morning and see what happens.

I am not terribly worried, more curious - I suspect he has just realised that breakfast is not as yummy as tea and is stamping his little pawsGrin
