Dog poo!

What do you all do with dog poo in the garden? I've heard of people throwing it down the toilet, don't like the sound of that but not sure putting it in the black bin liner is right either??

Well wrapped In poo bag then put in household rubbish. I think all councils recommend this. Don't like the idea of putting it down the toilet.

Bag it, seal bag, and put it household general waste (landfill) as per requirements of the local authority. Do the same with cat poo.

Actually, I console myself with the thought that at least some natural matter is going into the landfill sites.

Bag it and bin it in the general waste bin. I believe you can get a poo composty type bin thing that you bury in the garden but I don't know a lot about those, you'd have to google them.

I'm sure I've read somewhere that you really shouldn't put animal poo down the toilet.

Bagged, then securely in a larger bag, then in the black bin

We had one of those garden composty things, it stank! It didn't compost quick enough and when the garden flooded, need I say more...
Now we bag and bin.

I bag it in cheapo nappy sacks, tie the top closed and put it into a black bin bag which goes into the general household waste when full. That is what our local council told me to do when I asked them.

I did try one of those composting doggy loo things, but wouldn't recommend them. My labrador loves to munch long grass, which doesn't digest inside him. I ended up having to fish it out of the dog loo with a garden fork, and it still was useless. It might work if you have well drained soil and a dog which never eats anything other that what is put in its food bowl, but labradors are not known for that sort of restraint.

We went back to the bag and bin method.

We bag the poo (as she does it) then we pop it into a lined old compost caddy.

When our bin is collected (every other week), I transfer the liner and bagged contents from the caddy into the main bin.
