urine infection or an unfortunate series of events?

Rescue dog had a few wees in the house when we got her but nothing for about 6 months.

Yesterday she had a wee in the yard first thing but then didn't get a morning walk due to everyone thinking someone else was doing it. I came home to a wee on the carpet.

Today somehow she got shut in a bedroom accidentally and again I came home to a wee on the carpet. Although today she definitely did have a morning walk.

She is 8yrs old and on steroids for an allergy. She is used to being left from 9 until 1 and can definitely hold her wee much longer than this.

DH thinks we need to go to the vets I think it was an unfortunate series of events and we just need to get our act together to ensure she gets her morning walk and doesn't get shut in anywhere.

What do you think?

Steroids cause increased drinking, and thus increased urination. She is probably just needing to go more often than normal. I'm not saying it isn't a urine infection, but the steroids would be a bit of a flag to me.

Ah I didn't know that about the steroids, thanks ill keep an eye on her a bit longer before going back to the vets I think.

It could be the steriods as they increase thirst and hunger and by conseqence she will need to wee more.
But a uti is also more likely while on long term steroids as they can suppress the immune system and leave dogs at a higher chance of picking up infections.
Id get a urine sample and pop it into the vets personally.

My older dog (we won't talk about the puppies house training) is really good - but if he gets shut in a room other than downstairs, he will wee/poo on the floor out of distress within a few minutes
