I have a 9 week old springer x cocker.
After reading a thread on here, I discovered kikopup on YouTube, and I'm finding it incredible, and my puppy is responding really well.
Some of her videos though, I'm having a little bit of trouble keeping up, I can't quite see what she's doing to get the results (the video so far I'm struggling with is to stop mouthing/biting)

Can anyone recommend a good book I can use alongside the videos?

Also, the treats he's having ( Harringtons and some Wagg ones) make him a little bit loose. What else can I use to train which he'll be ok with?

Thank you.

Agree clicker training is brilliant.
The mouthing video is basically you touch the pup somewhere he doesn't bite, do it when he's in a relaxed mood - with my pup, it's his head and then I work my way down. Clicking and treating every few seconds, and stopping when he bites. Go back to the beginning every time you do the exercise.
High value treats renews enthusiasm - we feed chicken, sometimes peas, sometimes leftover bits of meat from our dinner and a 95% meat treat from Natures Menu but it works out as expensive Rib Eye so we tend to use that for training treats when we're outside the home, variety is important to keep them interested. I have my puppy on raw food for main meals - which happily means, nice firm poo!

Brilliant, thank you. I didn't get that from the video at all.

We tried raw feeding with our old JRT, but had to stop as she had dreadful diarrhoea.
He eats beta puppy at the moment, can we introduce raw treats (frozen mince?) or might that upset him, mixing food like that?

I don't think mixing raw with processed is recommended, different rates of digestion. Could you try roast chicken? My dog goes crazy for that. Actually odd little chap likes carrot, peas and broccoli too as treats but he doesn't get them very often.

Ok, I'll cook him some chicken.
Thanks

Hot dog sausages - buy a can of about 8 for 30p and slice them up. Really high value and cheap.

Oh good idea, thanks :)

I thought hotdogs were too salty for young puppies?

X-post.

How about eggs? We often have a glut of eggs, would chopped up cooked egg be ok?

Eggs are fine, I think.
