Fireworks

Very lovely ddog has ishoos with fireworks he’s not frightened of them but seems to want to go out and fight them / protect us? and DOES NOT STOP BARKING AT ALL. He is nearly four and if anything is getting worse, a lot worse.

We have tried desensitising him – doesn't work. He now gets the rage when there are fireworks in bloody Ben & Holly.
There were fireworks last night, loud ones and he got so wound up that it made me think we’re not going to make it through fireworks season.

Last year we had the pheromone plug in and spray – sprayed everything, sprayed on a bandanna around his neck and some kind of herbal tablet from the vet which all did precisely nothing.

Will the vet prescribe tranquilisers? I seem to remember childhood dogs being tranquilised.

Has anyone tried the thunder jackets? Is it worth a go?

there were fireworks near us last night (Hampton Court area), our lab just wanted to go out and jump around like a loon panting and beside himself. Just a bit of barking. No real ill effects apart from needing lots of drinking water afterwards.
My previous rescue dog was really frightened by fireworks and in the end gave him a tiny bit of rescue remedy. Slept through.

I've heard great things about thunder jackets. It could be worth getting one soonish so his used to it before the firework season starts
