Does your dog have funny little ways that make you laugh?

Eric makes me laugh every day for one reason or another and he has a few endearing habits. If we're on a walk he's finding very pleasing he does a little skip with his right back leg every now and again. If you say the words "scrawny bum" he covers his eyes and looks embarrassed and if he spots something interesting in the distance he stands on two legs (we call it doing a meerkat) to get a better view. There's also his less endearing habit of peeing on hedgehogs when they roll into a ball and won't play with him Hmm.

Finn waggles his ears at me when I talk to him, he still hasn't grown into his huge bat ears. I wish I could say my words of wisdom were going in but I'm not convinced.
He makes me laugh at free play in training when he plays with the KCS, he lies down to play as KCS is tiny and it looks like they're having a cuddle as they have their front paws round each other.Smile
And the way he wiggles with joy when the trainer comes near and the look of complete bemusement on his face when she came round for coffee, it was a wtf expression until he decided it was just an added bonus to his day and bought her his best toy.
He really is a joy who enriches my life whilst simultaneously annoying the hell out of me.

Bruno snores and makes noises when hes dreaming.

Only had him a week and yesterday when we took him a walk he was trying to run down a hill and coukdnt quite keep up straight out went the front legs and out went the back and he slid down on his tummy. Me my boyfriend and his kids just laughed at him. (Maybe had to be there) but it was funny. Xx

cherrybombxo · 06/09/2014 18:18

Archie skips too! I love when he fights with inanimate objects. I dropped a potato last week while serving dinner and he started barking at it, pouncing and jumping away from it. Mental!

moosemama · 06/09/2014 19:12

Pip has the strange habit of sniffing the top of people's heads. If anyone sits on the floor or bends down to pick something up, he can't resist snouting the top of their head and giving it a long noisy snuffle. Grin

He also steals all the empty milk cartons out of the recycling bin and legs it up the garden with them, where he proceeds to make as much noise as he possibly can throwing them around.

Oh - and he's learned to use the pedal on kitchen bin to open the lid and have root around. Hmm

Finn comes to me at dinner time every night, stretches out in front of me, wagging his tail in a daft way and says "Mom" in a loud growly voice. (He does - honest!) Grin

He's also learned to lean on my laptop screen from behind to close it when he thinks I haven't been paying him enough attention. Hmm Grin

Less appealing is his penchant for stealing any roast vegetables left over after a Sunday dinner. I guess he'd be after the meat if he didn't live in a houseful of vegetarians. Wink

Jaeger learned how to open doors as a puppy and recently has taken to letting himself into our box/ junk room when we are out and going to sleep. We call it his bedroom now as he never lets himself into our room or the spare bedroom!

He has a way of staring at you and tapping his back left foot when he wants your attention which is quite funny. As soon as you look at him he looks away nonchalantly as if he wasnt doin noffin.

He also likes to take his toys down the stairs and nudge them so they bounce down. He thenwaits until theyre perfectly still at the bottom before racing down to attack! He loves that game.

Oh and scraps of paper like reciepts are his most favourite thing ever! Better than any chew toy.

LEMmingaround · 06/09/2014 19:26

Lenny makes me laugh every day - my favourite thing is when he talks to us. Growls and whines and sometimes barks. He will NOT move when we are in bed and will groan and look at us in disgust if there is too much movement.

Bob thinks he is a boxer as he playfights by bopping his opponent, either me or lenny with his front paws. He stands on his back legs and holds his paws up as if to say put em up!

When they playfight and when one dog hears a noise and starts barking. The other one will bark and shriekHmm and looks to the other one to see which way to run.

I love having two dogs

JadeJ123 · 06/09/2014 20:25

Kaiser will bring you his toys put them on your lap then walk away and look offended when you don't play with the toy yourself Blush
Cookie will wait for someone to sit on the floor and then sit in there lap and get comfy Blush
Both like to play fight together and run round head butting each other.love having 2 dogs

Wait4nothing · 06/09/2014 21:33

Nickel has the annoying (but cute) habit of taking all her toys out of her basket looking for the perfect one. She also moves socks and shoes from around the house into her beds.

insanityscratching · 06/09/2014 21:39

Loving reading of all these funny dogs. Moose and Lem Eric's a talker too and after he has spoken he cocks his head and waits for you to answer. Cherry what breed is your skipping dog? Star Eric likes rolling things down the stairs.

MuttDog has a blanket on one side of the sofa that she is supposed to lie on, but instead puts herself underneath it. Many a time I've nearly sat on her.

She also says 'hello' in the mornings, like a big yawn that turns into a howl/growl.

RottDog (RIP) used to open the fridge door and bring butter to me. What she wanted was a piece of bread and butter - she'd turn her nose up at plain bread and preferred tiger bread above all others (she also used to walk into my office, fart and walk straight back out, but we don't talk about that).

deste · 11/09/2014 22:34

If I tell ours off he does a fake sneeze.

Rowgtfc72 · 13/09/2014 15:37

Stella is a fat jack and crawls on her belly and elbows. Holsten the old jack used to shuffle his bum up the wall to crap two foot up. Never left it on the floor for me.

Toooldtobearsed · 14/09/2014 06:01

Mine likes everything in the right place!
Any clothes left in the bathroom are carefully transported to the bedroom floor, particularly fond of transporting bras. And don't I know that EVERY shoe in the house belongs in the hall? It sometimes looks like a kinky jumble sale when I open the front door, having left him for all of 15 minutes Grin

LadyCybilCrawley · 14/09/2014 06:32

Moo will sulk if she sees a suitcase being packed - and will physically turn her back to you in disgust (she's never been in a kennel so has no right to complain) - it takes her days to forgive you

She also has a nose for cheese - you can take it out of the fridge whilst she is asleep at the bottom of the garden yet she will magically appear at your feet instantaneously silently imploring you for a slice

Bohemond · 14/09/2014 07:23

Bill twists his head from side to side when you are talking to him - like he's trying to listen harder. Sometimes his chin goes up beyond the horizontal.
The other one is just a bit dim.

SteveBrucesNose · 14/09/2014 10:19

GirlDog sort of taps her front feet just before sitting down. It's dead sweet. She's another who walks into my office, farts and leaves though.

BoyDogs main comedy habit is sittin and begging with his paw in the air - whenever he sees you holding our tortoise. He doesn't quite get that Kev is another member of our pack and not breakfast. When the tortoise is on the floor though, BoyDog cowers, terrified that the rock is wandering towards him

SteveBrucesNose · 14/09/2014 16:20

Not quite making me laugh, but BoyDog lets us know he's ready for bed with a big yawn, wanders into his bedroom, spends 5 mins licking his cock, then falls straight asleep. Typical bloke.

Innocentbystander01 · 14/09/2014 16:36

Mine checks on the dc and us every night. He waits until dp and I go to bed then walks round every bedroom and has a nosey at everyone before settling at the side of dds bed. If one of them sleep out he sleeps by the front door.
Dp has a chronic illness which means sleepless nights now and again and our dog won't sleep he paces round with dp all night then looks knackered all day bless him.

Betrayedbutsurvived · 14/09/2014 16:43

Rocky insists on sitting on visitors laps, which is fine, until I mention that he is a huge German shepherd/Newfoundland cross and he weighs eight stone!
