Sudden black lab incontinence?

Black lab, neurered a year a go and three years old has previously had bowels/bladder of steel.

In last two weeks he has pooed & weed 3 mornings on our sitting room floor. There are doors leading outside but we only ever let him out of the kitchen doors.

There has been no changes in routine other than its school holidays so he is having less walks than normal but we have a 3 acre garden which up until now he has happily used.

Can anyone shed any light as to why he may be doing this please?

My dog suddenly started having accidents on the kitchen floor, rivers of it! I thought it was old age and It went on for a couple of weeks. I took him to the vet as his skin was really itchy and it all tied in with the weeing on the floor. He was actually quite ill and we hadn't realised. Not to say your dog is really ill like mine was but may be worth getting him checked out by your vet?
My old boy had done medication and was right as rain in no time and no more rivers on the kitchen floor I'm glad to say Grin

He needs to be seen by a vet to rule out any medical reason. He may have a urinary tract infection for example.

After that, it is generally linked to behavioural issues and you may need to be referred to a behaviourist.

But, definitely get him vet checked first.

Possibly a bitch in heat nearby? The scent can travel a long way and has a big impact on behaviour sometimes.

Thanks for the suggestions. It's so out of character - will defo go to vet and see what he says (and in meantime will close all the doors!!).

Our lab suddenly pooing inside was an early symptom of a stomach infection...one vet visit and £80 later, he was fine :-/
