How big does a crate need to be?

Pup is 9 weeks old and is currently crated next to my bed at night plus an hour or two most days whilst I'm at work/on the school run etc. His crate is about 60cm x 50cm floor space.

I'm looking at getting a second crate so we can have one upstairs and one down, as it's a bit of a ball ache lugging it around, and would be handy to have one in the kitchen for whilst we're eating etc, but I'm wondering if I need to get a bigger one in preparation for when he's full grown, or if the size we have already will suffice?

He's a Jack Russell so won't get enormous by any means! He's never likely to be crated for more than 3 hours during the day; obviously longer at night but he's asleep and right next to me so I'll wake up if he's distressed. When big dog was a pup, I had the hugest one you can get, but I just haven't got space for one that size and it seems a bit of an overkill for a dinky dog!

Minimum requirements state that dog should be able to sit up without touching the top, stand up without touching the top and lie down in comfort. that's it really - anything else is a bonus

They need to be able to turn around and stretch out too.

Thank you :) So the size I've got at the minute is plenty then I would think. Looking at him now, he looks tiny in there and going on the size of his parents, he's not going to be very big when fully grown.
