Chic canine kit - how to stay stylish on dog walks

As per the other thread, here's one on stylish dog-walk clothing - coats, boots, bags.

I'll start us off, what do people wear on dog walks when it is properly hot but still a bit muddy?

Liking the Sweaty Betty, colourful sportswear idea.

I have got a small pouch that clips onto the dog lead which is great for poo bags before use and can fit one other thing - keys or some pound coins, but isn't big enough for more than that and I think anything larger would be annoying on the lead so I stick with my fabric over body bag which is quite innocuous.

Worried about if/ when it falls apart though as can't see anything similar. Might ask crafty type friend to make me a second one. Might get a dicky bag in the smallest size and see if it can be used for things other than poop full bags (really concerned that if I try that I will forget the poo in bag and it will fester for days and also finding the idea a bit yucky but there are always bins near me so not as needed).

Am sure there is a business in all this - aren't there any websites with nice stylish stuff for dog walking?

Oh that was me catbus, someone liked my bumbag yay! Grin

I have in mine

Phone
Keys
Poo bags in bone shaped dispenser thing
Spare roll of poo bags
Large pah squeaky ball
Another small squeaky toy
A large kong bubba
A spare squeaker
Then have dedicated another whole largish pocket to treats
And it's still not full.
Managed to get leads in the big pocket while out last night, but only after removing the wubba, would be able to fit a spare lead or long line in if I took out one of the big toys.
There are little organizer pockets inside of you wanted to carry cards or change.
There is an elasticated thing on the front where you could stuff a raccoon.
There are also two mesh pockets on either side that both fit a small water bottle.

Also while it is quite big, there are straps on the side that allow you to compress it if you are not carrying much.

''And now I've written it down I am quite appalled that I now don't think anything of carrying poo around in a bag."

That's how I felt Spicy, feel like I should buy a dicky bag now. Grin

Very Envy of those of you that can carry off the summer dress dog walking style. I look odd in dresses when I'm not dog walking and am always over-dressed and melting on days where everyone else has their arms and legs out. Blush

When I was young and a million times less anal, I used to double bag poo in the winter and put it in my pocket to keep my hands warm, now I don't even like touching the bags when they are empty Grin

Shock I tend to just wear gloves! Grin

I promise that my cons have been in the washer at least a dozen times. Thats why I prefer genuine converse. Cheap pumps have fallen to bits in the wash.

moosemama · 13/06/2014 19:22

Not Cons, but Vans ... dog shoes! Grin

GobblersKnob · 13/06/2014 20:13

Nice, you could team them with a dog buff Grin

£25 for a Dicky Bag? Shock Shock Shock.

The Schulenberg hound's walker is bedecked in whatever she's already wearing that day with a pair of walking boots or wellies jammed on her feet. On work days that'll be a skirt, dress or trousers and on weekends it'll be jeans or leggings with a long tunic or dress on top. Furry/fleecy hoody on top if cold and something waterproof if tipping it down.

And a bag made out of old jeans for putting keys, phone, bags and poo in.

Dog doesn't care what I look like as long as I'm with him and we're outside.

Still shaking head in disbelief at ££££ for Dicky bag.

Ha ha! Loving the Buff, all we need now is one of these 3d dog-face t-shirts and we'd be the most stylish walkers in the park! Grin

fanoftheinvisibleman · 13/06/2014 21:29

Some of those T shirts are terrifying

SpicyPear · 13/06/2014 21:30

Wow some tasteful ideas here Smile

It's also an oft overlooked problem with crossbreeds that you can't buy breed themed goods.

moosemama · 13/06/2014 21:41

fan, thank you - you have just given me a mental image I could well do without! Shock Grin

Spicy, that's why we need the shoes and buff. If we can't have crossbreed themed goods, we have to have 'every breed' goods, just so we've covered all the bases. Wink

Whatever you do don't look on Google images for 3d Pug tshirts. There is a frankly disturbing picture of a man wearing one on there.
