Title says it all, really. Pup is now nearly 9 months old, and for the last few weeks has regressed back into bitey behaviour when excited. I say a firm 'NO BITING' and remove myself from range until he's calmed down, but he doesn't seem to be getting it. It occurs when he's excited, so he's jumping up when we first go down in the morning etc. I ignore him completely until he's sitting down, but very quickly any fuss becomes a mouthing frenzy. He bites my clothes when we're getting ready for a walk and tugs on the lead etc. He has all his adult teeth now and is generally a lovely temperament, the biting is definitely not fear or aggression. Any advice or explanations?

Its teenage behaviour. All dogs go through a period of it and it usually shows itself in the form of a regression in at least one area of behaviour and at times more. Just go back to the methods used when you first brought him home and he will get the message.

I have a 13 week old cocker. I feel your pain. Literally.

Ah, that makes sense. He's being a pest to the spaniel, too.

Pups go through a period about now for you where their teeth are setting into their jaws.
