One of the cats has swiped our 4 month old puppy and his claw has got his eye - bit of blood in both corners but puppy doesn't appear to be in pain

What do I need to look out for?

Tonight. I don't want to panic you, but if the claw perforated the eye this can lead to glaucoma which is an emergency. My dog got a perforated eye from a thorn - it looked like nothing (just a bit of blood on the surface of the eye). He saw a vet who prescribed drops and said it would be fine. A few days later he was in agony with glaucoma. He was referred to a specialist eye vet who in the end had to remove the eye. Had he been seen immediately by the specialist before the glaucoma developed the eye could have been saved am very bitter about that Please take him tonight and ask specifically for them to check for any signs of perforation. If there's any doubt at all he needs to be seen by a specialist opthalmic vet.

tonight. the iris can go into a spasm after an injury- it's called uveitis and can be serious.

Have called emergency vet - they say doesn't sound like he needs to be seen tonight but to take him in first thing tomorrow - if it gets worse I'm to ring back tonight

Back from vet - the cat's claw scratched the inside of his eyelid which is where the blood was coming from - def no damage to the cornea but all a bit inflamed. He's got a/b eye drops in case of infection

However... when the vet checked the dye solution he'd put in pup's eye he realised it wasn't coming down into his nostrils so he suspects there's a blockage somewhere - if it's still not clear by the end of the week we'll be referred to ophthalmic specialist - thank god for insurance ..
