Chattering teeth!

I have a 13 yo Border Collie bitch that we inherited recently, she is fit and well but her teeth chatter sometimes and I don't know if she's cold or excited. She's had her teeth done as they were awful when we got her, she's had a bath today as very muddy, but she's in the house with the heating on to dry off. I've just towelled her again and put her fleece on as she started chattering when I woke her up to towel her off again.

Anybody have any experience with this? Thanks!

My parents have a Jack Russell which does this a lot, as well as shaking at the same time, but when they asked the vet about it they were told it's just common in certain breeds and wasn't anything to be worried about.

We have a much loved elderly greyhound who does this. It's quite common with sighthounds - usually a sign that they are happy or excited. Mick does it when we have special cuddles or when we are just off for our walks. It's really very endearing.Smile

Thank you for the answes, she doesn't seem to be upset so I guess it's just her!

My little male Yorkie, neutered, does this when he can get high on sniffing the wee of my bigger breed bitches when they're in season. Confused
