Ddog is going through a teenage spell

Ddog is a Cairn Terrier, nearly 3 and started to drive us completely bonkers. If he’s out he wants to be in and if he’s in he wants to be out and repeat and repeat ad infinitum, barking to be let in and barking to be let out. He’s also started barking at the bloody bastarding fireworks which are driving him mad.

What can we do to help him calm down? I don’t think he’s bored, he’s hardly ever on his own, lots of walks and when he does decide to come in and stay in will happily play catch with his tennis ball for hours and he has load of other toys / kong type stuff to do.

He’s been neutered but he has started humping his cushion. Thankfully only his cushion and nothing else yet. Could any of this be related? Is he just acting like a rebellious teenager?

And, what to do about the fireworks season - he gets soooooo wound up, I dont think he's scared, more trying to protect us and wants to go out and fight them. We had something from the vet last year for the main weekend of it but it didn't make any difference at all.

Have you tried one of those plug ins to calm dogs from Pets at Home ( not sure what its called) I have never had a problem with mine and fireworks but my neighbour has and she swears by the plug in.
