New black lab - and chocolate lab is looking distinctly unimpressed . . .

We picked her up today - 21 months old - and she's settling in just fine, but I'm not so sure our older dog is pleased!! He's been remarkably tolerant, but he isn't in his usual evening snoring location. It is because it's just the first night, isn't it??!!

Ahh what is she called? I love labs!
I'm sure you're right about it being the first night - I bet after a run around together they'll be good friends Smile

Yes I would say it is because it's the first night. Dudley was in our house first and slept in his bed everynight at the side of my bed. Dd fetched Rosie she was sleeping in dd bedroom and Dudley slept in there for the first two nights with Rosie. Soon as he realised she was here to stay he was back to normal. Then Winnie arrived this time he wasn't bothered just got on with it. Now you couldn't seperate them throughout the day they follow each other everywhere except for at night Dudley still sleeps in my room and Rosie and Winnie are in dd's except for when dh goes to work on mornings and I end up with all 3 of them and hardly any bed.

Well, the first night the new dog, Mabel, barked for about 3 hours!!!

Anyway, we've got it sussed now - we leave the radio on through the night and no more barking :-)

Storm is looking rather happier too - think we've made the right decision :-)

Your older male will be putty in the hands of the younger female ime.
My neighbour has a male who acts as if he wants to kill the other neighbours' male dogs and said he'd be the same with my female.
He was astonished that his dog fell in love with mine at first sniff and in his house. She even stole one of his chews, gave him a look and he moved away in a romantic hazeGrin. Neighbour was stunned.
It is said that the female is always in charge. Smile Both neutered.
They'll be fine.

Yep! She's definitely in charge! She's even moved in to his bed Grin
