With respect to temperament, tolerance of being alone during the day at times for a few hours, behaviour around children and trainability

I have read the websites. I'd like the proper lowdown now.

Thanks very much.

The more I read, the more I think ours must be something else in disguise. She's a gorgeous dog, incredibly cuddly, housetrained, perfect recall, loves to sit and watch telly, sleeps a lot, but always willing to join in anything that's going, Just a perfect family dog. We must have struck very lucky.

I love ours! 9 year old female - puts up with all kinds of abuse from the child without complaint, hugely sociable with humans (dog knows more folk than we do where we live! Blush) and is as faithful,a companion as you could want! Even trained to kill spiders for me! Cons are that she isn't great with other dogs - some she is,absolutely fine with, others she takes an instant dislike to and boy is she feisty when she gets going! Recall pretty good (even when she gets sniff of a rabbit) and walks to heel on lead well these days. We rescued her when she was three so no idea what she was like as a pup. She's a wee star and we wouldn't be without her.

Mine would seriously love agility. We had a little go on a course at dogs unleashed but my main problem is that if there is another dog in the vicinity all concentration goes out of the window and he wants to play like maniac. He is a lovely dog and so sweet but he is just loves dogs. At puppy class we were the dunces in the corner whilst he swung around on his lead like a crazed thing. We then went home and had the command cracked in 2 minutes.

I walk him as much as I can with my friends labs and the more doggy off lead we manage the better he gets but it is hard as our local park is a country house and very popular.

I love BT's....feisty little buggers though, stubborn and will go for anything furry

I have a faulty one though Studtotal...I posted on here last night as I ended up near wetting myself as my daft sod let the hamster (safely enclosed in his ball) take both a carrot and his ball off of him [grin|

Ours is faulty too. A complete and utter wimp. Scared of the dark!
