Please help. We are looking after my MIL greuhound for a few days while she is away and then it is going in kennels while we are away
I've noticed for the last couple of days she has been limping although doesn't seem in pain.
Would a kennels take a limping dog?? Do we need to find a vet- she's not in pain

Any advice appreciated. TIA

If she's limping, she's in pain.

If you can't find anything obvious, the most likely thing is that she's just pulled something, but if it's not better after a few days of rest I'd be going to the vet to at least get her painkillers even if it does turn out to be nothing serious.

No idea about kennels, I suggest you phone them and ask.

My greyhound limps intermittently - we've had him to the vets for x rays and all sorts and they can't find anything wrong, so we're at a loss as to why he does it. It doesn't seem to bother him either.

Have you looked at the pad? She might have something stuck in it or be developing a corn, which are very common in greyhounds.

Don't know about the kennel either, but yes, you should phone them. Kennels must take dogs who have medical conditions surely, but maybe they will want you to take her to a vet prior to coming? And as previous poster says, they might give painkillers to see if this helps.

I know it was a cat(!) but the Cattery we use was happy to take our cat when he was under veterinary care. They were closely linked to the practise and were happy to reassure us that they would liaise closely with us and the vet while we were away.
Definitely worth phoning the kennels and discussing it. Sods Law says these things always happen before a holiday or other major event so the kennels are probably more than used to dealing with situations like yours :)

Thanks for advice. We can't get hold of MIL. Dog now seems to be limping on other front leg - but not all the time and is still running round the garden. Will probably try nd find vet in morning
Thanks again
