Harness for Houdini Dog with crap recall ?

She has managed to bolt off today in pursuit of another dog and poor DD really thought she'd lost her Sad We're working hard on the recall but for piece of mind, I really want a good harness that she can't just bolt out of - any recommendations please ?

I use a Doxlock harness on my terrier ,I've tried lots of different types and this is the only one that I'm confident with plus its really easy to get on and off .

For a serial harness-shrugger with crap recall I have used a neck line (short piece of nylon rope with a clip at each end, usually used for sled dog racing) to connect a well fitting harness to an equally well fitted choke collar. The collar remains slack and not in use unless the dog slips the harness, in which case the neck line takes up the slack and the collar tightens instantly.

You might also consider a martingale collar rather than a harness which are IME always easier to slip out of (and again IME the doxlock/Julius K9 type are the easiest to back out of!)

Well ,in view of what was said above I tried to pull my dog out of his Doxlock this morning and unless he develops double jointed front legs there is no way its coming off. Poor dog thought id gone crackers !However it is horses for courses ,I like the Doxlock because it has no neck pressure as my dog has a problem with his trachea and any pressure on his neck causes spasms .
