Says it all really. Darling dog used to crash about the house in a plastic collar, and I was looking up the Kong Cloud collar, which can be brilliant under some circumstances. Then I read somewhere that a stuffed sock is just as good.... We'll see. If it works, then the loo paper stuffing can go, and I get my sock back..

I think it depends on the size of the dog. My Portuguese Water Dog had a lovely inflatable collar & it did no good at all as he has a long muzzle. He had to go back to a cone. I didn't make him wear it when we were out which puzzled lots of people.

you must have a teeny, tiny dog!

I have used a towel for my staffie in the past, he gets really distressed with the cone collars. I googled and found a video showing how to do it - you fold a towel lengthways and then secure it round the neck with duct tape. my boy loved it, it was like having his own built in pillow.

So far it's been ok apart from coming undone. Hey ho, it hasn't cost anything. The dog is a collie with a long nose!
