Dog not eating- I'm worried

My 1 year old dog has been off his food for about 10 days now, And is now barely eating anything. He still seems fairly bright although not quite as bouncy as normal.

He seems hungry though, trying to eat my friend's cat's food and eating any food dropped on the floor.

I took him to the vets last week and he has a high temp but no obvious signs of anything wrong. They gave me antibiotics for him and took bloods which were inconclusive. We're to go back next week.

I'm really quite worried. I've mixed his usual kibble wih some wet food to make it more interesting and he has eaten a bit more of it but he was usually such a greedy guts before.

Any thoughts? Has anyone been through anything similar?

Thanks.

Anyone? I would really appreciate some thoughts from more experienced dog owners as he's my first dog and I don't know if I'm overreacting!

What breed is he? Is he losing weight noticeably?
We have two dogs, one is a lurcher who isn't very food orientated and is a bit off her dinner in this hot weather.
The other is a GSDx who would probably be on deaths door before he didn't eat.
If you are worried go back to your vet.

Ten days is a long time. I'd suggest something like roasted chicken or sardines or something to really whet his appetite. Yes, what breed is he? Is he looking skinny? Is he drinking or does he seem dehydrated? Any other symptoms?

Hi, thanks. He's a mini Labradoodle. He was a bit chunky to start with and has probably lost a bit of weight.

He is drinking water ok.

He seems a bit better today so fingers crossed the antibiotics have done the trick. Still not eating his full meal though.

I'm taking him back to the vets on weds.

Thanks!

That is a long time for any dog but especially one so young. Do you think he could have swallowed something? (my dog swallowed a duplo figure at roughly that age). I would push for an earlier appointment, I think he needs to be seen asap.

Thanks yes, the thought had crossed my mind as he is a terrible stick chewer. I'll take him back, will they scan him?

Hopefully they will, I would think so, especially if they know he is a chewer. I was lucky as I had seen my terrier swallow the duplo, the vet put a camera down into his tummy and could see the figure smiling back up at him ! Hope it is sorted soon.

How is he doing op?
