Non smelly dog breeds

Hello . . .
I'm just at the beginning of researching getting a dog. I had a really solid english setter when I was a child and I adored him. My husband has always had cats. I've been trying to persuade him to have a dog for years. His main reason for not having one is the smell. So - any advice on this? I'd love something like a golden retriever personality wise, although I think they can be a bit stinky.
We have a seven year old and five year old twins so we really want a good family dog.
Thanks!

I second what Turniphead said. We have a mini schnauzer and he doesn't smell (even non-dog liking friends comment with surprise on this). He also doesn't shed. He is rather strong-willed and somewhat manipulative, but that's a different issue Grin...

There is no way you will find less/more stinky one...Why to want a dog and expect it to be smell free???They have specific smell, especially the paws has this lovely crackers/bread like smell...
It is up to you to keep them clean and fresh,I don't think anybody will allow the dog to run around the house dirty/smelly.
We have 2-staff/hungarian vizsla cross boy and yorkie cross girl. She loves rolling in fox s$*t but it means straight to the bath...
Somebody mentioned diet, but it is dry food which makes the dogs really bloated...Home cooked food is great in controlling what they eat...
