I think I have met the laziest dog in the entire world.

He's been here two days and the only time he's moved is when we've moved his bed from the front room to the back room depending on where the family are sitting. Literally that is the only time he's moved.

5yo dd2 walked him yesterday (with DH) and he just plodded along behind her. When they stopped at the swings (naughty DH, but he said there was no-one there and he'd have moved if anyone came) he laid down on the grass and went to sleep

hahahaha, yes we have one of those too, you go to put lead on and he collapse on the floor, he lays and pants till you bring the water to him, you have to drag him to his bed at night time, as he wont get up don't ya just love lazy dogs :) x

Judging by the way he just had my entire hand his mouth when I offered him a lump of sweet potato I would say no, not ill.

I gave my dog a Kong full of peanut butter dog stuff and biscuits.
He laid down next to it to wait for the treats to somehow make their own way out.

Yes, Greyhound, but even by greyhound standards he is lazy. I've just had him on a 5 mile walk, he can't even make it to his water dish now, he is laying on his bed staring pitifully at his empty food bowl, he knows very well there is water in the back room and kitchen.

Dd2 has taken pity on him now and is fetching him water.

My Grund is a lazy sod too. I swear he'd never go to the toilet if I didn't practically manhandle him out the backdoor a few times a day he's held it for 17 hours before and even then he didn't seem bothered about going out!

Oh for a lazy dog, must be fabulous. Mine never stops. Everyone told me whippets were lazy and a good breed to have. I didn't think when I gave a home to a whippet/border collie x. Yep the border collie in her makes her go on and on and .........

Whippets are like smaller, more energetic Greyhounds. But yep, they're very lazy. Just not quite as lazy as a Grund :o

it always amazes me how lazy people say their greyhounds are. before MN i would have imagined them to be very high energy dogs what with the racing and all.

Having gone from a greyhound to a non greyhound dog I've realised that greys aren't like any other dog. I was woefully unprepared for "normal" dog ownership and feel I've been hit by a tornado.

High energy? The only time he could be considered to have any kind of energy at all is when there is food on offer. He's currently sat up on his bed as opposed to laying down because dd2 has a bowl of cereal in the same room as him. It's the most I have seen him move since he's been here

Booy the majority of pet Greyhounds can usually be found lying on their backs on the sofa, legs akimbo, snoring and farting. I've never met a hogh energy Grey yet :o

actually i am really lucky with WB- he's pretty high up on the lazy chart. apart from a mad few months when he was a pup he has been a dream and will happily lie on his armchair all day snoozing or watching the traffic. he's done in after a 45 minute walk

I knew we were wrong to get a jrt...

Though as he is with ill DH most of the.day he too now expects snoozes from time to time.

They're lovely aren't they? Unfortunately with 3 cats, I have no chance of ever owning one. :(

My best friend had one though and I have never seen such a lazy dog in my life! It would never stop eating if you let it but apart from that all it did was fart and sleep and fart in it's sleep. :o
