So she'll be 11 weeks tomorrow and 2 weeks on wed she'll be able to go out so in the next week ish ill slowly introduce the car to her so shell be a bit used to it by the time we can go out.

Last 2 days she hasn't woke up till nearly 6 paper well used but I'm not allowing myself to worry about everything especially as this week is my pmt week and I struggle with that at the best of times but with me finding pup so hard too, I think ill be shedding a few tears but fingers crossed I wont as we're back into our routine of me going to work ( for a rest!) 9-12 and grandad coming round so hopefully the few hours to recharge will help.

Sorry if I sound so negative it's just where I'm at

No, don't think you're negative, just realistic! Sounds like things are slowly getting into some kind of routine. You're right about work being a bit of a rest (!). Assume you've "trained" granddad so that he follows what you've been doing, so he doesn't confuse the dog... good luck. PMT is a horrible thing, isn't it, hope this week goes quickly for you Smile

I found the couple of weeks just before you could take the puppy out really hard going - I took him loads of places in the car and carrying him, but he still was too full of beans. as soon as he could walk it was so much easier because he got tired, lol.

Notonaschoolnight · 25/02/2013 12:56

Ill have more chance of training pup than gdad I'm afraid but I'm just grateful for the help has long as she gets a play a chance to go toilet and a bit of fuss I'm happy as I think over time as I show him what I do with her it may rub off. I think today ill bite the bullet and try her in the car to pick up the kids I don't normally take it as I love the walk but the weathers rubbish anyway and I have to do it sometime. Thank you both for not thinking I'm horrible

My puppy has completely put me off having another puppy, I've said so lots of times - I love dogs, I've had lots, but a puppy is so not a dog, lol.

Much as he is lovely, I'll get an older one next time.

LadyTurmoil · 25/02/2013 18:02

Of course you're not horrible!! Grin It's just bloody hard work at this stage, pissing about in the freezing cold half of your day (and night), not getting enough sleep, worrying about whether what you're doing is right or not, it's enough to send anyone barking (ha, pun not intended!). So, if you think about it that way, you're doing FANTASTICALLY WELL!

Grunzlewheek · 25/02/2013 20:08

Having a puppy is so much easier than having a baby !
(but actually both are bl**dy hard work ! Grin)

Once you can take her out for walks things will get better, she will be more tired when she's home, and house training should make more sense to her when she knows there's a whole world out there. As for night time, remember she still has a little bladder and physically won't be able to hold it all night for a while.

tabulahrasa · 25/02/2013 20:09

I think babies are easier, lol - they stay where you put them for starters Grin

LadyTurmoil · 25/02/2013 20:46

at least babies wear nappies...
