Moving with the dogs

We currently own an Irish Wolfhound aged one, our lovely vizsla and our LabradorxPoodle (Labradoodle?). We live in Connecticut in the USA. We will soon be flying about eight or so hours to Copenhagen in eight months, with our DC (unfortunately...). Out dogs aren't travel sick, but Evie, our Irish Wolfhound, is still scared of the car which we are working on, but we don't think that's a good sign for air travel. Any tips, experiemce, advice? Shots etc; are up to date and we need information about quarantine experiences if possible, although we know the raw facts, they have microchips, talked with our vet about the forms he will have to sign to say whether or not our dogs are healthy or not (hopefully the former of course). If anyone has moved with a dog, it doesn't matter about moving countries or anything, but them settling in would be helpful too. Anything really!

No idea about moving countries but I have moved house several times with a variety of dogs.
I normally try and leave them elsewhere until our stuff is in the house so there is some normality when they walk in. Then we bring them in, allow them 10-15 minutes or so to amble about, sniff, find beds, water bowls etc then off for a LONG walk. They arrive back exhausted, wander round for a bit more then an hour or so later they get fed. IME they have then collapsed on their beds and woken up later not even remembering they are in a new house
The nosing about the house time we spend ignoring them, hopefully not winding them up or giving them any cause for anxiety.
This has always worked for us BUT we are moving ourselves in a couple of weeks so I hope our run of good luck holds out :o

So...

Move things over first
Then go, and let them sniff about, ignoring/not stressing them.
Long, long walk about area
Let them wander house etc;
Feed them
They hopefully sleep

Did you put dog toys on the floor and things they're used to or is it better to let them explore without the distractions of a toy or whatever, until maybe after the long walk? The furniture will be completely different, we are buying there and are selling our things, but things like the dog beds, ornaments things, etc will be the same, small things we can bring over, so hopefully they'll go into their dog beds easily.
