Manic behaviour - help!

We have an eight month old Labrador cross, she's a rescue, so not sure what she's crossed with. Think she might have a bit of Staffie in her, short legs, very stout body.
Anyway she has been behaving like a complete maniac for the last few weeks. We got her when she was three months old, we've done puppy classes, she goes out every day.
She constantly jumps up at everyone, if we go out of the room for ten minutes she jumps over us as if we've been gone for hours! She gets left a couple of time s a week for a maximum of four hours, she goes to a dog sitter once a fortnight.
I went food shopping this morning and came back to find she has badly chewed a wooden chair.
We are very firm with her, but it has no effect, how do we curb this behaviour?
She was spayed in November.
Thanks

At 8 months old she is a teenage hooligan with the attention span of a hyperactive gnat. The only thing that really helps is time. In a couple of years she'll be nearly grown up. Grin

Until then, when you go out you need to crate her or put her in a safe room with lots of toys and things to chew like stuffed kongs, antlers etc.

With excited jumping up, turn your back as she jumps and make a huge fuss when she has all four feet on the floor. Eventually she will prefer not to jump. With dogs like labs it does take forever to sink I'm afraid, so stick with it.

she is a teenager im afraid I have just come through this hang in there and every whipper said.
also put her out the room when she is getting too much as they see get down stop it or whatever as part of the game and it winds them up more

, A little time out helps everybody.

, Honestly it does pass I am looking at m y nearly year old dog and sighing as 2 weeks ago he was the exact same, Also contact your rescue to see if they have a behaviourist, I was in first name terms with mine Blush

oh and you need to contain her I wouldn't give her the run of the house when you are out, and teach the wait command dont fuss her when you come in ignore her till you are in and settled and then fuss her
