That's it really in a nutshell.
He is a 1 year old cocker spaniel and despite him having 2 baths yesterday there is still a dreadful smell coming from him--but l don't know from where,

Not his fur nor his ears nor his breath or bum--but it is truely repulsive. He is not unwell no change in diet and bowels okay.
Was thinking of taking him to the vet on Monday.
Any ideas???????????????

What sort of smell? Could he have rolled in something disgusting?

No he hasn't rolled in anything that l know of and he has had to baths with doggie shampoo and the smell doesn't seem to be coming from his body....

Anal glands. Fishy? Vomit-inducing? Vet will drain them.

oh yes vomit inducing smell and he keeps coming to sit beside me and l push him away.. trip to vet on Monday

Ah, anal glands. If he smells like Satan's armpit with a side order of fetid fishmonger, it's likely to be his bum. Is he scooting? Licking/gnawing at his tail/back legs?

Check his mouth as spaniels often get a condition called lipfold pyoderma. When my spaniel had it, we couldn't even stand to be in the same room as him
The easiest way to tell he had it (other than a trip to the vets) was to look at his bottom lip. The skin folds where his top teeth touch the bottom lip was very red. We had no idea that was what was causing the smell. After an antibiotic injection, the smell was gone within a day.
