My puppy is 11 weeks. She can now go for walks which to begin with she loved. I dont know why but she now refuses to walk more than about 20 metres outside the house, I am wondering if something has spooked her, has anyne experienced this?

What can i do to help her?

My pup did this for a bit, it didn't last very long. I encouraged him along a bit and if he did move I tried to make sure the walks were fun. He was better the further we were away from the house so when we could we drove somewhere...

My lab puppy sometimes does this, I think sometimes they don't want to leave their warm (and dry) home! I usually stand there until they get bored, offer a treat and then we are off. A friend said that pups are still making sense of the world - getting used to trees not falling on them etc. Good luck.

Thanks ladies, today's walk went much better. We made it as far as the big field and the woods which are really only 5 mins from our house and she loved it so hopefully is realising that walks are fun Grin will just keep it up and keep praising her.

My (recently departed) collie did this as a pup. He'd fling himself on the floor and refuse to move. I'd drag him along a bit sometimes in sheer desperation (not that I'm recommending this!). This didnt even encourage him to move. He'd just lie there! Stubborn bugger. I gave him to a friend to do in the end, cos I just couldn't crack it and she had much better results. He never was good on a lead though and once he was trained, I barely used one on him.
