Do you leave the tv or radio on for your dog(s) when you go out?

So that they "have company" and if so chat radio or music or what? Or do they just want peace? I sometimes leave tv/radio on, sometimes not - not really sure if perhaps it might get on their nerves lol

molly no you don't, the rescue that I got mine from has a few owners that rehomed from them who live in flats with no garden at all

Do dogs actually appreciate Tv and radio...?

I know someone who puts it on for the cat, who couldn't care less, unless she hears wild animals on tv which only startles her.

I do leave the radio on for the dogs when I go out, mostly, as someone up thread said, to mask outside noise a bit and stop them barking. Also so that they just still hear noise in the house though...we have two dogs, four dcs and a cat, so when they are left alone (not often and not for long), I do worry that they'll be lonely!

We leave CBeebies on for him - he seems to like the sound of childrens voices and always stops and looks towards tv when there is singing ( not music as such but where the voice is much louder than the music )
When we had him the breeder warned us he maybe a bit of a telly addict as her son would line the pups up to watch tv with him .

Greyhounds are the PERFECT working person's dog. So long as they get their two 20 minute hurtles per day they are happy do doze while you are out.
And they have a fantastic bark that scares intruders.
Just don't ask them to sit (they can't)

Pretzel yes they do, especially Greyhounds. In their racing kennels a radio is on 24/7. I can't remember the exact reason but in Greyhound care books it recommends leaving a radio on for them for some familiarity.

Yes I do Although i left the music channel on once and he barked so loud i could hear him down the street so had to go back and change channel he likes talking not singing

Mine listen to the radio. Like behindlocknumbernine I like to have the same station in my car and think 'that is what the dogs are listening too'!

Yes. Used to leave the radio on when he stayed in his basket snoozing. Now he prefers to turn left to large cushion in lounge and a spot of TV.
