How to stop pooch pooing no the garden?

It's the only place she is comfortable 'going' we walk twice a day and if she wees let alone poos outdoors its a miracle!
I will use the same command on walks but she just sniffs.
As soon as we get home however, she's straight out in the garden pooing near the childrens slide.
I'm beginning to hate the daily trowel and carrier bag poo run!

Your post is a bit confusing but are you seriously complaining that your dog poos in your garden? Why?

You do realise that if she poos on a walk you'd still need to pick it up don't you?

Hi, again I have never owned a dog but, from my readings, your dog going in the same place is a good thing. A lot of people wish to train their dog to go to the toilet pre walk in a designated spot, in order to avoid them toileting in a less desirable area.

I wonder if it is possible to move the slide? Sounds daft but, when my DC were little, the slide was something we could move. Not the swings or climbing frame etc but the slide - yes!

Would you be able to transfer the smell to another part of the garden to encourage her to go there?

Sorry - I have read a lot as we considered getting a dog Smile

Either a cork or fence part of the garden off. Our dog can get to the concrete outside our back door but not the other 2/3 of grass garden. She still pooes on concrete no matter how many walks she goes on. She ALWAYS has one up the pipes ready to drop.

Sorry, I actually would prefer her to toilet on walksSmile I don't mind picking it up.
The problem I have when she poos in the garden is if I accidentally miss one when poo hunting, one of my young dcs is bound to step in it.
Is it a lost cause?

I completely understand - I do patrol every couple of days and it is a real pain esp when it's not solid. hard to clean up esp if on grass - and that seems to be his fave type of flooring.

if you look around you can find links on setting up a dog loo area and that's my plan. It sounds like you have to take them to the area on a lead then praise and treat profusely until they get it. That worked with the toilet training so now to train to poop in a particular area.

Not sure how you can train them not to hold on outside the home though. Perhaps others with more pooch wisdom will come along.
