Help with male dog spraying in house

I?m after a bit of advice. We have two entire male dogs (Springer?s), one 20 months and the other 11.5 months old, both are entire.

We have never considered getting DDog1 neutered as he is so laid back and no trouble at all.

When we got DDog2 the breeder told us to leave it as late as possible before getting him neutered so that his growth plates were fully formed. However we had considered using him as a stud dog as his parents were fully health tested and so he is hereditary clear for two of the main DNA tests.

However, he has started to mark in the house and I?m not sure if this is a dominance thing (I know this has been discredited by some) or something a behaviourist could sort out. I have read online that neutering him could help.

Has anyone ever experienced this, if so, how did you stop it?

One of mine (neutered) has just started doing this too, after having been clean for 6 years. It's really annoying me, and he is one step short of being relegated to full time outdoor farm dog. I'll watch this thread with interest as I'd love some suggestions too (mine has been to the vet for check up, so not ill or stressed).

My dog started doing this, always upstairs. The only way I could stop him was by denying him access using a stair gate, even now if he manages to sneak past he will spray.

DDog2 was limiting it to the dining room table legs until this morning. He managed to shoot past me, upstairs and did it against the corner of the wall

Mine limited it to the middle of my bed.
Neutering them is supposed to help stop it, didn't work for us, but its the only suggestion I found when googling the problem.

Is there a birch in season close by?

I know a friends dog started marking when their neighbors bitch came in.

We live quite rurally but its not an impossibility as I know a farmer along the way has a lab bitch
