Dog Friendly Norfolk Beaches

So we're planning a trip next Sunday to the beach. It'll be Little Mud (15m) and Muddy Dog's first trip.

We're about 60-90 minutes away from North Norfolk - Hunstanton, Wells, Sheringham etc. I know a lot of beaches have restrictions on dogs over the summer months and am struggling to find a definitive website that clearly shows where we can/can't go.

Muddy Dog is a Bassett Fauve who has terrible recal so will be kept on a flexi lead if it makes a difference, but I wondered if there were any MN-ers with knowledge of the area that could recommend good spots to go?

Holkham? Definitely not Sheringham.

Pretty sure dogs are allowed on the East beach at Sheringham, but not the West (lifeboat shed) end

Hunstanton - no dogs on the town beach but you can go to Old Hun

Brancaster is a lovely beach and dog friendly.

We met some lovely dogs on Horsey Beach. Nice dog friendly pub too - The Nelson's Head I think?

Thanks everyone, my laptop has gone into a virus induced meltdown this evening Angry but once its back up and running I shall check out your suggestions and may have to try more than one if we have time!

Had a lovely time with kids and dogs at Wells beach yesterday. The whippet even swam. (He wasn't too sure about that bit). Everyone seemed to have a kid and a dog.

Sounds fab. We go to Blakeney, which is lovely and muddy, and Cley beach is all pebbles. Horsey is fab, and the Nelson Head is great. You can't take dogs onto the beach at Sea Palling, but there are other lovely places. Waxham is great fun. Must get up to the coast!

Perhaps we spotted you up at Old Hunstanton today OP? We were the ones with the poorly behaved terrier on a lead...
