Westie, aged one, needs, without quesion, to be neutered

I have been told, but I suspect that this may be an urban myth, that Toto could be 'done' by 'keyhole surgery' rather than the traditional hysterectemy. Has anyone heard of this?

She has a condition that means that it would be dangerous to her health to have puppies and the puppies would inherit her condition. She is Kennel Club registered and I have informed the breeder.

I know that neutering costs a lot but there is absolutely no question about her needing to be done, particularly because a Jack Russell attempted to hump her the other day and I had to rugby tackle him away from her. The vet is confident that penetration did not occur but I wondered if anyone else had heard of this 'keyhole' method, which may be a load of rubbish.

I was waiting until she was two until I got her done but the recent humping has made me think that I need to get a wiggle on. Any ideas?

It's not a load of rubbish. It's available at an increasing number of vets. List available by quickly Googling.

Yes, you can have a keyhole spay. At the vets my friend works at it costs around £100 more than a normal spay.

With regards to the humping. Unless she is in season, she cannot get pregnant anyway and if she is in season she should be kept away from other dogs.
