one of my neighbour is getting her new pup in 2wks. she was telling me about lily's kitchen.

I was talking to her about my pup not too keen on james welbeloved and she said was going to have her dog on eukanuba but has decided to go for lily's kitchen after reading about it.

was curious if any one else has used it?

while im on the subject as my other post didnt get much answers, what is best? ive heard burns, fish4dogs and eukanuba are good. but being my first dog i wouldnt know.

I've heard of it, but it is dreadfully expensive, so have never tried it myself. Have you considered BARF/homemade it is considerably cheaper and mine look lovely and shiny on it.

My wonderful old collie boy was unable to eat dry food in the final weeks of his life. I knew he was on "borrowed" time, so I fed him Lily's Kitchen wet food. He absolutely adored it and, if I am honest, it smelled and looked better than my DCs' dinner Grin. It is very expensive, though, and I only gave it to him because I knew I wouldn't have much longer with him Sad.

My young collie is fed a BARF diet because she had ongoing problems with gloopy poo (bleuurgh!). She is thriving on a combination of Natural Instinct, free flow tripe, chicken wings, white fish and sardines with the occasional raw egg and dollop of yoghurt - gorgeous coat, Tom Cruise teeth, and small firm poos!

never heard of BARF/homemade. whats that then?

all this choice is confusing! im looking for whats best for the dog :)

i keep hearing of raw feeding in the dog house - not sure if poms can eat it, and i'll worry about it going wrong, choking etc!

Oh, forgot to say that we adopted a rescue springer 3 weeks ago. He also had revolting, gloomy green poo and a very dry coat. He is currently on fish4dogs which he enjoys. His coat and poos have improved a little, but not as much as I had hoped. At the moment he is on 3 meals per day as he is underweight so lunch is chicken wings. I plan to switch him over to a completely RAW diet as it has worked so well for my young collie.

woodrose ive noticed my pup has mucus/ gloopy poo? at the moment she has wet poo :(

doesnt want to eat james welbeloved. i done her some boiled chicken and rice to help with her wet poo but she only ate the chicken & left the rice!

this BARF sounds good. could you tell me more? for example how its planned out/menu? i have a pom pup which is currently fed 4 small meals a day. how does the BARF get spread out?

many thanks for your help :)

If you are worried about getting it wrong, have a look at the Natural Instinct website. It is prepared RAW food so no worries about getting the ratio of bone/ meat/ veg correct. I freely admit it is for RAW wusses like me Grin. It also contains bone but is the consistency of wet food so no fear of choking. When I introduced chicken wings to my young collie, I held onto the end of a wing so she couldn't gobble it. She is a bit of a greedy guts, but has never choked on it.

I feed my dog on Vets Kitchen dry food. I usually buy the salmon one. She suffered from very dry skin and runny poos, after trying loads I have stuck with this for over a year now. Its by the vet Joe Ingalls.

Hi cross posted - Natural Instinct has a puppy range and a feeding guide. You can use the feeding guide to calculate the daily weight of your pup's food then divide by 4 to get the amount for each feed. My collie is now 18 months so she is on 2 meals per day. I feed her Natural Instinct or fish in the morning and her chicken wings in the evening. I would love to be more adventurous with her raw meat but I live in North London where butchers don't stock cheap things like chicken/ lamb necks, etc.

i was told by the vet when she had her jabs that poms have narrow throats so it put worry in me when i thought of raw feeding! bones and all that. will have a look at natural instnct. just want to get the diet right so she dont get over/underweight and has a healthy body :)

coco will look into that too, thanks
