Kibble

Can anyone recommend a decent small kibble? After trying numerous, we have figured that the size of the kibble is what matters to our whippet boy. He really doesn't get stuck into large kibble the way he does small.

Also, new pup arrives in 6 days. How different, calorifically (?!), is puppy kibble to adult kibble? The whippy would cope with smaller quantity as his diet is partially raw too.

Puppy kibble is high in protein and fat and IMO not suitable for an adult dog. It is designed to support fast growth, not adult maintenance.

A number of companies do small bite kibble in adult food - eg Fish4Dogs.

In fact, the fishy ones are always smaller. Odd that.

F4D do pretty much their full range in full size kibble, and in small size kibble. Have a look at their website.

Our whippet is doing well this at the mo, if you want a meaty option www.petgoods4u.co.uk/manufacturer/Nutrience,b.html
Nutrience is a smallish kibble, & I'm really pleased with her general condition.

Nutrience is higher in protein than most standard greyhound foods though, which might not be appropriate, depending on your dog's activity levels. (I'll switch during the winter to a lower protein brand)
