Begging/steeling

Just that really, becoming a real problem tried all the training techniques but gutsy just not listening any mums net advice always greatly appreciated :) x

Ignore ignore ignore. Never reward the begging behaviour, not even once. Is it when you're eating? Fill a kong for pup and pop in crate of you have one. Make sure your pups not hungry, too. I feed my boy his dinner when DCs eat theirs, e then gets a bone/chew a couple of hours later when Im eating. Never begs. Hth.

Always ignore and try yo feed when we eat etc but he literally pinched crisps out of bowl I was carrying yesterday no amount of off etc made a difference he was like a dog possessed and, he had just eaten!!!!!

Husband just had sausage roll pinched out of hand and is going mad, one of several incidents today. Am at end of tether

What age can he have bones and should I reduce dry food if he has one??

Maybe reduce a little bit if feeding a big bone. Always gave bones (marrow, from butcher) to my dogs from puppy-hood. Don't over face him with a massive one though, or one too tiny (risk of choking!)

Stag bars are good, can get them from eBay, there should be a guide to what size is right, too.

Everytime pup jumps and gets food, like the sausage roll, he is self-rewarding. Ie jumping up to grab, works for him as he gets the yummy treat. Practise lots of sits, rewarding him for the correct behaviour (sitting and waiting.)

Remember he's only a baby, they don't come with manners!

If pup isn't keen straight away, try soaking in water/chicken stock overnight to soften a bit. My boy will spend ages with his. Also look out for it hiding behind sofa cushions!
