Spayed bitch won't stop jumping on bed or running downstairs

Is there any advice anyone can give on how I keep her from doing this? Poor little mite had the op today. She's 9.5 months old and has already had a seaon at 5.5 months.

She won't go in a crate and hates being away from me, so, she's following me like a lost shadow. She was asleep on my bed with me. She usually jumps up with me early hours, but vet suggested putting her on the bed from the beginning to save the jumping. But then I had to pee and she jumped down and ran down the stairs while I was incapacitated!

On the plus side she's eaten. She pooed as soon as she came out of the vets, literally on the street outside the door (she must have been holding it in) and she's been out for a pee.

Has anyone got any advice on how I keep her calm without locking her away?

Mine jumped once or twice after being spayed, despite my best intentions. She's a bouncy dog and felt better extremely quickly - too quickly!

In the end I did what your vet said, put her on the bed with me and watched her like a hawk. When I got off the bed for something I lifted her off too, just took her with me. She follows me anyway so I knew she wouldn't stay put if I wasn't there.

She jumped off the bed at one point and I was quite worried, but she was OK. You might not sleep much tonight for worrying and watching!

Thanks Musicposy. She stayed on the bed all night last night but this morning she's as restless as a whippet with a bunch of bees up her bottom. She's climbed on the sofa and is standing at the window right now (her favourite place to be). DD was watching her and she was quiet as anything and the next minute she'd bounded off and up the sofa!

Without sitting on her, I don't know what the heck I can do, especially as she's really fast!!!

She's always been quite bouncy and her favourite places are all a bound away (the bed, the sofa back/windowsill, upstairs generally). I thought she'd be proper poorly today and instead she's trying to make up for the time she was asleep yesterday. I'll just have to watch her like a hawk :)

Mine loves the windowsill too! It's difficult when they don't realise they should be being quiet. The lack of walks didn't help!
If you're really having trouble, maybe phone and ask the vet for advice.

Thanks Musicposy She's currently crashed out by my side, so I'll make the most of that and the phone's close by if she starts back up again. I think she'll be going on a small, flat walk today. It'll keep her from bouncing about so much!!!
