I have Not Had A Good Morning.

In fact, not to put too fine a point on it, I Have Not Had A Good Night OR A Good Morning.

Last night was fine, right up until the point where we put the dogs back downstairs, and switched the light off to go to sleep (at around 12.20am). At which point I discovered (by putting my foot into the wet patch) that ddog1 had wet the bed (she has a hormone problem and makes very dilute wee, and occasionally wets herself).

So dh and I got up, and we stripped the bed. Unfortunately the wet patch went through the mattress protector and into the mattress, so we had to mop that, and turn the mattress, and whilst we were turning the mattress, we knocked over half a glass of blackcurrant squash onto the bedroom carpet. The cream-coloured bedroom carpet.

So whilst I finished putting the clean duvet cover and pillowcases on, dh blotted blackcurrant out of the cream carpet, then hoovered it with the crevice tool over and over and over until the big purple stain practically vanished. Then we made the bed and, some 40 minutes after we'd first tried, we put the light out and finally went to sleep.

Dh's alarm went off at 5am (he had to go down to London for a meeting). The boys woke up, and some of them went to school (those not on study leave). Ddog1 came and curled up on the end of the bed again, and ds2 asked if I wanted ddog2 to come for a cuddle too - and I said yes.

Ddog2 arrived, snuggled down on my shoulder, and promptly (and with no warning) threw up copiously onto my pillow, dh's pillow, the duvet and the sheet. So I got up, mopped up dog sick, stripped the fecking bed again, cleaned the fecking mattress again and went downstairs, where some of last night's bedding is still waiting to be washed. All this before 9am.

I feel your pain, SDTG!

Your night/morning sounds pretty bad. Enjoy your Brew

I dont know if this will cheer you up at all but, DDog2 loves to eat poo. It's but what can I do?
Yesterday she entertained herself by eating the corner of the kitchen cupboard, this in turn gave her a dodgy tummy and she had the runs yesterday afternoon.
Last night she went out for her last wee/poo and she started eating the runny poo from ealier. I went and got her and sent her inside (while she is still licking her chops) and she chucked up said runny poo all over my carpet and sofa (that doesn't have removable covers) then she tried to eat the chucked up runny poo that she did by eating my kitchen!

Fecking dogs indeed.

Ddog1 likes to eat poo too - she's a labrador and will eat pretty much anything, including sheep poo, horse poo and cow poo. Ddog2 is only half labrador, and will eat any food she can get her paws on, but doesn't eat non-food items. Thrown up runny poo sounds worse than thrown up dog breakfast, tbh, and you have my sympathy.

It really is just as well that they are cute, isn't it!

I've heard very good things about this stuff for leaky bladders. It might be worth a try.

Can't help with puking dog though! Sorry.

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 15/05/2012 11:41

Thank you for that, daisy. We might give it a go - though to be honest, it is fairly infrequent at the moment, so not too much of a problem (except for last night, of course). Vomit-dog is now curled up comfortably on the couch in the den and appears fully recovered.

The washing machine and tumble dryer are reeling under the shock, though!

I feel your pain SDTG. DH had a clear out of the fridge last night and threw out a bag of lamb bones that I decided I wouldn't give to the dog after all but forgot to take it out of the fridge. Bones went in the bin (despite me having said before to never fill the bin up last thing at night), and after we went to bed, so did the beagle. Rummage rummage. I found the evidence - a few bones he couldn't manage - this morning scattered over the kitchen floor. After shouting at DH, I took dog out for his walk. Three poos. Three. Brought him back. He then threw up a huge pile on our ridiculously expensive Persian rug, twice, and then again in the kitchen. This afternoon I let him out in to the garden where he has just done the most ginormous poo ever (for such a small dog) in the middle of the lawn. Poo and puke, all day long. And I'm the only one around to clean it up.

That's why my dogs live dowstairs, sleep in the utility, are not allowed on any furniture and I don't have anything expensive apart from two horses hope your all clean for tonight!! And that your days got better!!!

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 15/05/2012 18:43

It's all washed now and queuing for the tumble dryer or the ironing board. I hate ironing.

Oh my goodness. Thank you for this thread. I was beginning to think that maybe, just maybe, one day I would look into getting a dog. Well fuck that idea. I've got enough work to do with 3 men in the house. The last thing I need is watching a dog version of 2 girls 1 cup.

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 16/05/2012 12:59

They are worth it, though.

Egad! Sounds like having babies in the house.

We don't have problems like that with the dog.

toofattorun · 16/05/2012 13:02

I love dogs, don't get me wrong, but I shall love them from afar!
