My dog just ate some cooked chilli pepper from a cooked curry - will he be OK?

He climbed onto the table Shock and ate some chilli pepper I had picked out of my curry for being too hot. Altogether he won't have had more than a 2 inch square of pepper. They've got digestions of iron, haven't they???

Sorry Blush

chillidog · 16/04/2012 18:37

Thanks for the reassurance. Smile

Nah.....but possibly some baby wipes and milk to 'refresh and sooth' his tangy ring of fire!!!

chillidog · 16/04/2012 18:39

Aw. Milk works, does it?

Sad

He may throw up or have a dodgy tummy, but should be ok. I would stay down wind too! Wink

If not the mr vet for him tomorrow!! Grin

Whoopydofoxpoo · 16/04/2012 18:40

Extra poo bags definitely !

dogs are scavengers and their body has a way of getting rid of something nasty if it doesn't agree with them.

Makes a change from deer poo I suppose - my dogs favourite at the moment Angry

chillidog · 16/04/2012 18:41

I immediately thought I'd be up in the night with him. Hopefully it'll pass before then, though.

Ah poor dog - will have a ripe old poo then lick his bum and have it all again !

shushpenfold · 16/04/2012 18:41

It works for my tongue after a fiery chilli or curry....it might work on the other end too!

chillidog · 16/04/2012 18:42

Baby wipe before arse lick, then, if we can manage it.

Anyway, I've told him I'm talking to Mumsnet about him. Angry

Our dog helped herself to some jalaleno sausages(...or perhaps burgers, I forget, either way spicy fuckers) waiting to go on the bbq last summer.

She was disturbingly fine, no noticeable side effects whatsoever. I think I would have suffered more if I'd eaten them myself!

chillidog · 16/04/2012 18:48

He's a terrier. Tough as old boots (I fervently hope) and cheeky with it.

shushpenfold · 16/04/2012 18:48

Good luck with the baby wipe...I now have visions of you running round the park trying to wipe said dog's arse!

chillidog · 16/04/2012 18:49

Not so long ago it was ds I was chasing! Now he's the dog walker, old enough to drive to the park if need be.

He could be pretty poorly. We had a patient last night that had eaten enchilada and was vomiting pretty violently.

chillidog · 16/04/2012 21:17

He seems OK so far. In good spirits and has moved his bowels normally. Grin

Will obv watch him overnight however.

How's dog today ?

chillidog · 20/04/2012 17:49

He's been fine, thanks! Grin

He's just been planning his route onto the dining table for some sausage...

I am glad he is ok. I recently lost my dog to massive liver failure after he ate a plate of onion cakes an indian friend left for me. He went from full health to death within 24 hours. Our vets do baseline bloodtests every year when they vaccinate so they were able to quickly to confirm what had happened but sadly the damage was done.

chillidog · 28/04/2012 00:00

Oh, no, that is awful, Theodorakis. Ours usually knows better than to get on the table Shock and I am careful what I leave lying around. Presumably with yours, it was the onion as well as the spices. Sad
