No matter what time I feed her in the morning at the same time in the afternoon she is looking for her next meal .

I usually feed her at 7.30am and then around 5pm , this morning she got fed around 9.30am as we were up early for a long walk so fed her when we got back - between 4.30pm and 5pm today she is looking for her next meal - you know sitting by your feet with that sorrowful.' you never fed me ' look .

She is just going to have to wait a bit longer ...

why does she have to wait?

if 5pm is her dinner time then surely about 4.30 to 5 is fine

Suggests they go by actual time, not relative time doesn't it.

Mine are really funny - if I'm out working in the fields, come 4pm dog1 will send dog2 out to run round the tractor whilst he watches from a safe distance. Mine have to wait too, until I've finished whatever job I'm doing.

oh Trinity -this is a bit tongue in cheek ..

I couldn't feed her at 5pm anyway as we were just heading out in the car to take DS to activity - we have just got back and you will be pleased to know she has been fed !

My lab used to stick to me like glue for an hour or so before his dinner time, I used to try to avoid eye contact because if I looked at him he'd jump up and do a happy dance and run to the kitchen, then collapse in a miserable heap and whimper when I didn't feed him.
When we changed to raw feeding was advised to NOT feed at the same time every day (fed once a day) because he'd always expect food at that time and might not be convenient. So I vary it by a couple of hours either side and he's stopped stalking me for food. Apparently dog's system produce digestive juices, enzymes etc when food is expected which causes hunger.
