... I'm in love- I never thought it was possible to love an animal like it was 'my child'.

She is adorable- she doesn't make a sound a night- waits for us to get up (about 6.30am) before going for a poo (outside). Does her wee on the puppy mate in side (at night) but outside in the day. I had anticipated that these first few days would be a complete tiring nightmare but i can't believe how wonderful it has been.

We only have one problem and that is 'biting' and 'nipping' at our ankles- especially the kids - so we are working on that and hope it goes away over the next few weeks.

In a nut shell- probably one of the best decisions we have made in a long time.

thanks for all advice offered on here- especially links to Cockers online- wonderful help and resource to use

Oh I find the puppy stage easy, it's the teenage years that kill me.. glad you're enjoying your puppy :)

Awww that's lovely to hear :) she sounds adorable.

What I did when mine was a puppy and she was nipping was made a huge overeaction one day. She nipped me on the arm and I stood up and did a big Owwwwwwww then started "crying" and saying ow ow ow and rubbed my arm. Did not chastise the dog in anyway shape or form but she stopped nipping from that day on.

I'd forgotten this until I read your post, but my 12mo pup used to launch himself at the hems of our dressing gowns in the mornings and hang there by his teeth! I think it's just a puppy "thing," along with attacking brooms! Grin
Sounds like you're doing the right things so far.
