I'm looking for hard dog treat ball

My mil has got a 8 month dog. For my spaniel I had this quite hard plastic treat dispenser ball. I've just googled and now there are so many to choose from!

Do you have one? Do you rate it?

My old boy loved chasing the ball about and his dry food pellets used to fall out every now and then.

Sorry I've never posted in this bit before, thanks very much.

The Tug-a-Jug (although not a ball!) is good for my springer. I feed both his meals in it. Some posters on here, however, have genius dogs who can unscrew it!

I seem to remember the one I had was a hard blue plastic

Ah I will look into this one, thanks for the speedy reply.
She has a Westie who seems a rather clever fellow!

Would a small Tug A Jug be the right size?

Yes, small I think for a westie.

The Pointy One has this one

I bought it for him from Pets at Home for around £7. It is brilliant. You can adjust the size of the opening to allow for treats to fall out easily or trickle (we had to start with the opening on widest open as Pointy One is not the brightest).
It is hard plastic, looks durable. Pointy One has had his for around 8 months now and apart from some thin scratches and some general dullness where he has chased it over our tiled kitchen floor it is in good condition.

Go for it, you MIL's dog will love you! Smile

Not a treat ball, just an ordinary one, but absolutely chew proof - a lacrosse ball! One of the labradors found it while we were walking past school playing fields, that was nearly ten years ago and it is still unmarked.

That's brilliant behindlocknumber9 that's the sort of thing I mean. Would the dry food pellets fit in it?

A lacrosse ball you say? Hmm! Sounds genius! Since he destroyed a tennis ball as some speed. Where would I get one do you think? A specialist sports shop?

Yes, dry food pellets fit into it easily and come out with the opening on the smalles setting. I used to also break gravy bones in half, they fit nicely too!
